UNICEF and Civil Rights Defenders multiple winners in the Swedish advertising contest 100-wattaren

100-wattaren is a Swedish advertising contest that favours campaigns that through creativity reaches great effect. The award ceremony was held in Stockholm, Sweden, on October 23. The international organisations UNICEF and Civil Rights Defenders were two of the top winners of the night.

UNICEF won 100 watts in the category “Internationell”, that favours international cases, and 75 watts in the category “Ideellt”, that favours non-profitable cases. The winning case is “Sweat for water”, a campaign that was created with the Swedish football organisation Gothia Cup. UNICEF also won 50 watts with their Christmas campaigns 2007–2012 in the category “Långsiktigt”, which rewards campaigns with a long-term concept that stretches over more than three years. The ad agency behind the winning campaigns is Forsman & Bodenfors.

Civil Right Defenders was the other top winner and they also won three awards. The winning campaign The Natalia Project aims to notify people when a human rights defender is at risk. The campaign is created with the ad agency RBK and won 100 watts in the category “Ideellt”, as well as 50 watts in “Internationellt” and 75 watts in the category “Smart”, which rewards campaigns with small budgets.

Each entrant campaign must be predefined and deliver measurable results. 100-wattaren 2013 recognizes Swedish-produced or adapted campaigns published domestically or internationally in 2012 or 2013. 100-wattaren is a cooperation by the Association of Swedish Advertisers and the Swedish Association of Communication Agencies.
