Bracknell, UK, 11 February 2014 – Diversified technology company 3M today announced its presence at Hotelympia, the UK’s largest foodservice and hospitality exhibition, taking place 28 April to 1 May at London’s ExCeL. 3M Purification and Commercial Solutions Divisions are teaming up to present their latest product innovations to visiting professionals on Stand 3728 in the Technology section.

Filtration for catering equipment

3M will be exhibiting its water filter portfolio designed to protect professional catering equipment in commercial kitchens, pubs, bars, restaurants and hotels from expensive scale build up caused by hard water. These popular filters offer an enhanced taste experience for the consumer while helping reduce equipment downtime and service costs for owners.

The ScaleGard Pro P1175 Anti-scale Filter provides a high capacity of 6000 litres, which increases convenience by extending the filter change-out interval. The filter is floor mounted and is available in four versions – fixed bypass models (P1175BN-E and P1175BH) and non-bypass (P1175E and P1175H).

For the ultimate solution, there is the ScaleGard LP2 Dual Port Reverse Osmosis System (SGLP2-BL) from 3M, a compact, wall-mounted unit designed to deliver great tasting filtered water every time. The system provides two water qualities for specialty coffee and flash steamer applications, which means that only one filter system is required for all the back-of-house catering equipment typically found in a professional kitchen.

Interior décor films

3M will also be displaying a selection of high performance films and finishes for interior design and refurbishment projects. These include DI-NOC Architectural Finishes from 3M, a series of special effect self-adhesive vinyl films that offer a host of finishes from wood grain, stone, brushed metals and carbon fibre effects. The new DI-NOC Architectural Finishes E-Series uses non-vinyl films to offer an authentic, natural look.

The Fasara Decorative Window Film series from 3M will also be on show. These translucent polyester films are ideal for privacy and architectural applications. Representing a fraction of the cost of etched or sandblasted glass, the films can be applied to glass partitions and windows to create functional yet aesthetically pleasing interior spaces.

New Dichroic Film from 3M will also be on the stand showing designers and architects how dazzling colour changing effects can be produced simply, without the expense of authentic dichroic glass or coloured acrylic panels. The film, available in Chill and Blaze colours, produces stunning results and transforms all manner of interior spaces such as entrances, skylights and curtain walls.

Facilities care and cleaning tools

The company will also be exhibiting its new building entrance matting product engineered to work harder and last longer than traditional offerings. Nomad Optima+ Entrance Matting from 3M offers an attractive, highly durable product that assists in slip reduction and plays a vital role in reducing facility cleaning costs, particularly in buildings where there is heavy footfall.

Additional cleaning products on the stand include the Scotch-Brite Quick Clean Griddle System and the Easy Trap Duster from 3M. The Griddle Cleaning System offers a fast and effective solution, comprising ready-to-use liquid, scouring pad and griddle handle, for removing burnt foods and residues from steel, stainless steel and aluminium flat griddles. The Easy Trap Duster is a quick and effective dusting tool that uses specially designed disposable sheets to trap six times more dust, dirt, sand and hair than traditional mops.

A range of floor restoration products that eliminate the need to invest in specialist training or equipment will also be on the stand. These include Trizact Diamond HX Discs from 3M that turn stone floors into beautiful shiny ones using standard floor cleaning equipment; Scotch-Brite Surface Preparation Pads from 3M for deep cleaning; Scotch-Brite High Shine Floor Pads from 3M for cleaning and polishing in one process; Scotchgard Resilient Floor Protector from 3M for protecting vinyl floors without the need for future stripping; Scotchgard Stone Floor Protector from 3M for resilience against scuffs, scratches and stains; and the Easy Shine Applicator Kit from 3M, an easy way to apply all the Scotchgard Range of products.
