AcadeMedia is awarded new contract by the City of Gothenburg

On Tuesday last week the City of Gothenburg announced its resolution regarding a tender for adult education provided by the municipality. Gothenburg will distribute the adult education to a limited number of suppliers, four of which are part of the AcadeMedia group – Movant, Eductus, Hermods, and KompetensUtvecklingsInstitutet.

The tender includes six contract areas and will come into effect at the end of this week provided that no other party appeals the outcome. Among the contract areas included are Swedish for Immigrants, basic adult education and upper secondary school for adults as well as specialist vocational training. The contract period is from July 1, 2019 until June 30, 2023 at the longest.

This is a replacement contact for AcadeMedia. Turnover in the current contract for the City of Gotenburg amounts to approximately SEK 60 million per year in various contract areas. If the new contract comes into place the turnover is estimated to increase slightly to around SEK 75 million per year. Price levels in the new contracts are in line with the current contracts. AcadeMedia’s current contracts run until June 30, 2019.

The decision on this framework agreement has strengthened AcadeMedia’s position as an important contributor to Gothenburg’s social structure. It will help people gain access to the labour market and in the long run contribute to developing the region’s competitiveness. AcadeMedia’s share of the total volume tendered amounts to approximately 20 percent.

The contracts may be appealed. A demand for appeal must be submitted no later than November 16, 2018.
