Colchester UK, 5 September 2013 – External wall specialists, Wetherby Building Systems Ltd, has chosen integrated ERP solution Access SupplyChain to help run its multi-location business. The company, which aims to help make buildings more energy efficient, has experienced tremendous growth over the past 12 months, seeing turnover soar from £18m to £61m.

Steve Smith, commercial director for Wetherby Building Systems Ltd, commented, “We needed a solution that would support our growing business and automate our manual stock control processes. Each month we spend two days carrying out a stocktake, which involves around 13 people across our seven stock locations. It’s time consuming, wastes a huge amount of resource, and leaves us open to potential errors. With Access SupplyChain we’ll have a robust system that will help increase efficiency and productivity.”

Given the massive success Wetherby Building Systems Ltd has experienced in the last 12 months due to the Government’s CESP & ECO initiatives, which provides additional funding to the fuel poor and drives measures such as external wall insulation, the business needed a system that would grow with it.

“Access SupplyChain will help future proof our business and support us as we continue to take advantage of market opportunities. Last year alone our headcount increased by 30% to cope with increased business; we believe with the right technology in place we can drastically reduce the administration burden and be more productive as a result.”

Wetherby Building Systems Ltd carried out extensive research before shortlisting SAP, Sage and Access Group. Access is providing an out-of-the-box solution with a quote system tailored to their requirements, all operating from one database.

“Our IT manager had previous experience of Access SupplyChain which helped in the selection process and the company’s financially strong too. This was important as we needed to be confident it was going to be around for the long term and that we could build a solid relationship. We liked the people straight away. From the offset it was clear that they ‘got’ our business and understood what we wanted from the system,” concluded Steve.

Wetherby Building Systems Ltd work with architects, local authorities, housing associations and landlords to improve the energy efficiency of their buildings by providing easy to install thermal insulating products. The market leader in external wall insulation, it carries out a range of projects from one small building up to an entire housing estate for local councils.
