The Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust is to roll out a new integrated human resources software package Access SelectHR. This is a strategic move to support the management and development of the organisation, replacing an outdated database in favour of a system with greater functionality and reporting ability.

Sheila Wilcox, head of human resources at The Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust explains, "WWT is a conservation charity which saves wetlands for wildlife and people. Our national and global work is supported by nine wetland visitor centres across the UK. We had a database that was unsupported and had limited functionality. It was restricting the ability of the HR team to work as smart as possible and to provide the organisation with valuable information about the talented people that work within WWT. We needed to replace the basic database with something more advanced, something that would allow us to spend our time developing the organisation."

Sheila elaborates, "The integration capabilities that were offered between SelectHR and Access Payroll Services appealed to us. Now with Access the system will offer a range of new functionality that we previously didn't have. It will be a new way of HR process management and reporting. For example we will be able to utilise triggers and email reminders as a basic area of functionality we previously lacked."

She said, "We looked at a number of providers, but with Access' further functionality and integration possibilities, it was the logical step for our organisation to move forward with Access." SelectHR will enable WWT to use their time more effectively to become more productive by streamlining processes allowing greater visibility, control and analysis of HR data.

Dee Caporali, Human Capital Management divisional director for Access, comments, "As an existing user of our membership and fundraising software it's exciting to see WWT introduce Access into other core areas of the organisation. This will allow WWT to become more strategic in approach whilst streamlining processes to optimise HRs impact on the organisation."

Sheila concludes, "We're looking forward to reviewing our demographics in detail, and to delivering detailed reports to the board. This is all thanks to the consolidation, automation and ease-of-use within SelectHR."
