Access Group, the integrated software provider to the NFP sector, has unveiled a major new release of its HR solution incorporating volunteer management. The latest version, the most significant since Access first launched its browser-based HR offering in 2008, is part of an integrated suite of solutions available to Access’ 950 not-for-profits customers.

Alongside a new modern look and feel, business intelligence, onboarding and enhanced talent management will enable organisations to gain a 3D view of their people providing greater insight and fostering better staff and volunteer engagement. SelectHR also offers the first fully configurable mobile application, allowing organisations to fine tune the out-of-the-box functions to suit their needs.

Rob Barr, divisional director for NFP at Access Group, commented, “The new volunteer module will further strengthen Access’ finance, CRM and HR offering for the NFP sector from membership organisations and charities to educational establishments. The new module will make it easy to manage exactly when volunteers are available which will help to more effectively plan resources - for instance, being able to search for volunteers to attend a fundraising event or to cover the charity shop on a particular day.

“Volunteers are the bedrock of any not-for-profit, playing an invaluable part in delivering on the organisation’s remit alongside their employees. The module not only allows organisations to store all manner of data from personal details to DBS disclosures, it also ensures organisations can easily track skills, training history and training needs. Having visibility of the talent that exists in terms of both employees and volunteers will help organisations nurture and pinpoint those individuals that have the potential to play a bigger role within the charity or even become the leaders of the future.”

Accessible to all organisations regardless of size, SelectHR has the ability to accurately match career ambitions with not-for-profits requirements which can help to reduce staff and volunteer turnover. Equally, making the right impression with new recruits prior to them joining the organisation will get the employer-employee relationship off to a good start. The on-boarding solution encourages interaction and keeps communication flowing, helping to make the new recruit feel welcome and part of the organisation early on.

SelectHR provides organisations with a single people management system, enabling them to manage the whole employee and volunteer lifecycle as well as access, analyse, share and submit information, including holidays and sickness, regardless of time, location or device. The new offerings, which also incorporate news feeds and slideshow management, are part of Access’ continual investment across the whole software portfolio. “We are constantly expanding our solutions in areas that add value and remain relevant to our not-for-profit clients,” concluded Rob.
