ADEY is carbon neutral for sixth year running

ADEY Professional Heating Solutions has announced that its business is carbon neutral for the sixth year in a row.

Working with the environmental consultancy firm, The Carbon Footprint, ADEY achieved the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) on 4 January 2012 having offset 161 tonnes of CO2.

ADEY first became carbon neutral in 2007 by adhering to independent assessment guidelines from The Carbon Footprint, which recognises all stages of carbon management from assessment, to carbon reductions and carbon neutrality.

This year, ADEY has achieved the standard through tree planting in the West Midlands. For each tonne of CO2 it generates, ADEY has planted one tree which will help to support wildlife habitats in the area whilst allowing the company to successfully offset all 161 tonnes of CO2.

ADEY’s Managing Director, Kelvin Stevens said: ‘As a company we’re already focussed on the importance of energy efficiency and the resulting benefits to the environment. Our award winning product innovations contribute significantly to reducing carbon emissions, energy and water usage through UK central heating systems.

‘We actively take steps to ensure measures are introduced to make a positive impact on the environment in the areas of energy and raw material usage, waste and recycling. We’re incredibly proud of our ongoing achievements in respect to this and we’re delighted to have secured carbon neutral status for the sixth year running.’
