LORD Corporation Technology To Be Presented At Experimental Aircraft Association Convention

LORD Corporation – a global leader in the management of vibration, shock and motion control products – has announced Thomas Law, Manager of Product Support Engineering, will present a paper at the Experimental Aircraft Association’s (EAA) Annual AirVenture Oshkosh Convention.

The event will take place July 29-Aug. 4 at the Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Law’s paper will be presented on Aug. 1 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. in Forum Pavilion 04. The presentation is titled “SMOOTH Engine Mounts & Nose Wheel Shimmy Dampers.” LORD will have a display at booth number 3081 in Hanger C.

The presentation will discuss the importance of selecting a SMOOTH engine suspension system that effectively isolates the vibration felt within the aircraft, while controlling engine motions and protecting sensitive aircraft electronic components. Law will also discuss nose wheel shimmy and the superior performance of the LORD Shimmy Damper. Further, he will review the importance of reducing shimmy from your nose wheel to maximize the life of the nose wheel components.

Law is a member of the Product Support Engineering Group responsible for aerospace fielded products. He began his career at LORD Corporation in 1975 as a student engineer in Erie, Pa., working on fixed-wing and industrial products. Law has worked on several high-profile projects including the development of engine mounting systems for the DeHavilland Dash 8 and Boeing 757 & 767 aircraft.

He received his Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, N.Y. Law is a named inventor on four granted patents related to fixed-wing products including thrust reverser system isolators, engine systems and APU isolation systems.
