Aesculap Implant Systems Announces 2013 Orthopaedic Surgical Skills Course Offering

Aesculap Implant Systems and the Aesculap Academy are offering three surgical skills courses for U.S.-based Orthopaedic Surgeons that address recent advancements and breakthroughs in total knee arthroplasty, knee revision techniques and direct anterior hip replacement.
Aesculap Implant Systems, in conjunction with the Aesculap Academy, announced today the Orthopaedic surgical skills course schedule for 2013. Three different courses provide training on the subjects of total knee arthroplasty, direct anterior hip replacement and knee revision surgical skills. Each course is led by experienced surgeon faculty and features a combination of didactic classroom lectures, highlighting applicable case studies, as well as a cadaveric lab for hands-on exposure to new techniques and instrumentation.
Courses:
Advanced Technologies in Knee Arthroplasty: Focuses on new breakthroughs for total knee arthroplasty surgery including an in-depth look at the Advanced Surface coating technology and its performance characteristics, unique post-cam design of the VEGA System® knee implant for more natural knee kinematics and the reproducible precision achievable through navigation systems.
Direct Anterior Approach with a Short Hip Stem: Focuses on teaching the minimally invasive, direct anterior approach surgical technique that allows for hip replacement without the detachment of muscle from the pelvis or femur. The course will demonstrate the technique using the Metha® short hip stem and the OrthoPilot® navigation system.
Knee Revision Surgical Skills Course: Provides comprehensive, practical knowledge of knee revision surgery that will guide participants through manual and navigated procedures using the EnduRo™ and Columbus® Knee Revision System in combination with the OrthoPilot Navigation System.
