ÅF wins order from SKF

ÅF has signed a contract with SKF for development and delivery of a number of new highly automated production cells to SKF’s plant in Gothenburg. The order is a turn-key solution in which ÅF is responsible for the entire chain, from project management, design and manufacturing to installation and commissioning.

The first delivery will be in autumn 2016 and final delivery is expected in early 2017.

“We have done several international assignments for SKF and now they have once again entrusted us to deliver robotic automation systems to their plant in Gothenburg,” says Per Magnusson, President Industry Division. “It is proof of our ability to strengthen SKF’s competitiveness in a global market.”

The project components will be delivered as turn-key solutions and will be managed from ÅF’s office in Laxå along with the offices in Gothenburg and Trollhättan.

The plant to be modernised and streamlined manufactures spherical roller bearings and is one of SKF’s largest.
