Munksjö extends its range of baking papers with lightweight Aderpack 35 g/m²

MUNKSJÖ OYJ, Press release, 18 October, 2016 10.15 CEST

Munksjö, a world-leading manufacturer of advanced specialty papers, today announces the extension of its AderpackTM range with a 35 g/m² low basis weight paper for cooking and baking applications. This light paper grade enables a lower environment footprint while maintaining high release performance and temperature resistance.

Convenient and hygienic, AderpackTM are single-use papers, mainly used for baking pastry or pizza as well as steam cooking. Made from natural fibers, AderpackTM offers high release properties and excellent heat resistance, making it ideal for consumer rolls, liner for pre-rolled dough or pan liners. As it is a single-use baking paper, it improves hygiene with no risk of allergenic food residue migration. AderpackTM meets the strictest safety requirements for direct food contact and baking conditions such as FDA and BfR XXXVI.II regulations. Munksjö baking papers are manufactured at Munksjö’s site in Rottersac, France.

“The need of the market for more sustainable products is reflected by a higher interest for lower substance materials. We have also noticed a growing interest for single-use baking paper for its hygienic and safety aspects. Munksjö’s ambition is to offer cost-effective and sustainable alternatives aligned with the expectation of our customers and end-users. The development of this light baking paper meets these demanding requirements by offering sustainability and consumer safety with no compromise on performance.” comments Alexandra Venot, Vice President, Flexible Packaging.

The site in Rottersac has approximately 200 employees and is part of the Business Area Graphics and Packaging. The production site is specialized in the manufacturing of specialty papers for food and non-food flexible packaging, repositionable notes, transparent envelop windows and other industrial applications. These papers are for instance used for packaging of butter, sweets, cheese or fast food. The site is certified according to ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001:2007, FSC® and PEFC™ Chain-of-Custody.
