MIAMI INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF ART & DESIGN ANNOUNCES DESIGN & MEDIA MANAGEMENT MASTER OF ARTS PROGRAM
Miami, Fl October 4, 2010. Miami International University of Art & Design has added a new Master of Arts program, Design & Media Management, specifically designed for the working professional working in creative fields.
The Master of Arts program taglined, “A management degree designed by creatives, for creatives,” is designed to address the demand for leaders and managers who understand creative industries. The program was strategically developed by industry professionals in tandem with some of our experienced curriculum writers. The program focuses on providing students with management skills, strategic thinking, and entrepreneurial tools to lead a creative team or build one of their own.
“There has never been a more significant time for business and design to meld into a hybrid discipline. For business to survive this economic and social climate, innovation and creative problem-solving are necessary. For creative individuals to thrive in the business realm, they are going to have to be equipped with more than mere talent. This program is a dream of mine—where business people think outside of the box and traditionally creative people embrace strategic thinking and good management practice,” says Jerry Johnson, chair of the Design & Media Management program at Miami International University of Art & Design.
The new Master of Arts degree is an 18-month program designed for working professionals. The program will extend from the campus based in Miami to its branch campuses, The Art Institute of Tampa and The Art Institute of Jacksonville. Through advanced technology, students will benefit from both synchronous, campus-based instruction and asynchronous online instruction. Students will be connected with experienced faculty as well as a broad range of creative students.
