Alimak Group’s Norwegian operation gets order for Johan Sverdrup Phase II

EPC company Aibel has placed an order for an explosion-proof elevator with Alimak Group in Norway. The elevator is for Equinor’s Johan Sverdrup Phase II project, with an order value of approximately MSEK 27.

The explosion-proof traction elevator and lift shaft will be used to transport personnel and goods in the process area on the platform. Engineering work will commence in November 2018 and the equipment will be delivered end of 2019.

Alimak Group in Norway has previously done business with Aibel for projects including Gudrun, Troll A, Sleipner B and Draupner and with Equinor through a frame agreement for all nine lifts to Johan Sverdrup Phase I and several other large projects in the past, including the order received in February and June 2018 for all four lifts for the Johan Castberg project.
