Charities Receive $20K in Funding

RICHMOND, Va., June 28, 2013

Henrico-based Allianz Global Assistance USA announced today the results of a new corporate giving program, Travel Aid Grant (TAG), to support non-profit organizations across the country.

Travel Aid Grants support organizations whose project, program or initiative is enhanced or achieved through travel.  The program is administered by AGA’s Corporate Social Responsibility grants team, who meet twice a year, once in May and again October, to determine applicant eligibility.  Grants are awarded in a range of amounts between $2,500 and $10,000 and are based on a program’s merits and beneficiaries.   Allianz awarded $20,000 with its first grants.

Currently, only organizations headquartered in the U.S. or its territories are eligible to participate in the TAG program.  Applicants may only apply once in a calendar year.

"We want to share our success within our communities and around the globe by giving back to non-profits that utilize travel to address vital areas of concern for our citizenry, whether traveling for urgent medical care, support, or personal enrichment," said Mark Cipolletti, vice president of communications for Allianz Global Assistance USA.

Recipients of the first 2013 philanthropic grants are:

Henrico Education Foundation

Miracle Flights for Kids

Comfort Zone Camp

Pack for a Purpose

World Pediatric Project

Jack and Jill Late Stage Cancer Foundation

To be considered for the October program, non-profit organizations can request an application by sending an email to howcanwehelp@allianzassistance.com.
