Altor acquires Infotheek

Altor Fund IV (Altor) has acquired a majority stake in Infotheek International B.V. (Infotheek), the leading European IT distributor and reseller focused on end-of-life and refurbished IT products.

Infotheek was founded in the Netherlands in 1991 and today has offices in eleven countries across Europe. The company has achieved a growth in excess of 25% per year during the last seven years by expanding its offering to new product categories and services, new customer segments and continuous expansion into new geographies.

“Infotheek has successfully entered several new markets, and we believe that there are significant further international expansion possibilities to explore. I believe Altor can support the company well during this journey. I also believe that the re-use of IT products represents a valuable and growing phenomenon from a sustainability perspective, and Infotheek plays an important role in this value chain,” says Stefan Linder, partner at Altor. “Infotheek is a company with an entrepreneurial culture and a strong management team. We value the opportunity to build a successful partnership under these circumstances and look forward to continue developing Infotheek together with its employees.“

The family of Altor Funds has previous experience from the IT reselling market from the ownership of the leading Nordic online reseller Dustin, which was acquired by Altor Fund II in 2006 and was publicly listed on NASDAQ Stockholm in February 2015.

“Although Dustin and Infotheek are focusing on very different segments of the IT-market, and in addition have very different geographic footprints, the ten year journey together with Dustin has given Altor relevant industry insights” says Stefan Linder. “I am convinced that this experience will be valuable to us as an active owner of Infotheek”.

“We have grown the company substantially over the past years”, says Jordy Kool, CEO of Infotheek. “Through teaming up with Altor, we have a partner that can support us both financially and operationally in accelerating the growth of Infotheek and build a true European leader in our niche of the market, circular IT. On top of that, Altor and Infotheek share the same vision regarding the growth opportunities for our leading brands Infotheek and Xeptor, as well as for our e-commerce platform 4Launch”.
