PHILADELPHIA, PA January 31, 2014 – American Law Institute Continuing Legal Education (American Law Institute CLE) is thrilled to announce its upcoming program Environmental Law, that will take place at the Washington Plaza in Washington, DC on February 5-7, 2014.

This two-day continuing education program, is specifically designed for both private and government attorneys who practice environmental law and will give them updates on the critical environmental law developments over the past year. In particular, the program will focus on business and real estate matters in the environmental law arena, as well as the recent challenging issues in energy production. There will be special introductory lectures on the evening of February 5th for newer practitioners or experienced practitioners in need of a refresher.

“No other course brings together the varied disciplines of environmental law as does this program,” explain planning chairs Pamela R. Esterman and Daniel Riesel from Sive Paget & Riesel, P.C.

Now in its 44th year, this program was the ‘first environmental law CLE’ for numerous practitioners, notes Kevin O’Connor, American Law Institute CLE Program Attorney. “It was their chance to learn about everything before specializing later in their career.”

Boasting an impressive faculty including private attorneys, non-profit leaders, law professors, and government authorities, including Environmental Law Institute President John C. Cruden, who has been nominated by President Obama to lead the Department of Justice’s Environment and Natural Resources Division, Chief of the Environmental Enforcement Section of the Environment and Natural Resources Division in the Department of Justice W. Benjamin Fisherow, and Senior Attorney Advisor of the Office of Environmental Justice at the Environmental Protection Agency B. Suzi Ruhl. Avi S. Garbow, General Counsel for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will deliver the keynote address on February 7th.

Offering over 15.5 CLE credits, including one hour of ethics, this comprehensive course will uphold its tradition of providing exceptional learning and networking opportunities for the environmental lawyer.
