PHILADELPHIA, PA March 4, 2014 – American Law Institute Continuing Legal Education (ALI CLE) is pleased to announce its upcoming program, Pension, Profit-Sharing, Welfare, and Other Compensation Plans, that will take place on April 2-4 at the Marriott Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco, California.

This is the year that employee benefits practitioners are scrambling to keep up with the latest significant developments in legislation and case law. This intensive CLE program will give these practitioners an in-depth analysis of the hottest topics, including potential litigation risks for plan sponsors under the Affordable Care Act; the effect of United States v. Windsor on employee benefits plans for same-sex couples; the most recent guidance on 401(k) plans, including conversions to Roth accounts and mid-year contribution changes to safe harbor 401(k) plans; the impact of Heimeshoff v. Hartford Life & Accident Life Ins. Co. on a plan’s statute of limitations on benefit claims; and benefits issues for high tech companies.

"This is the program that devotes itself to covering all of the current issues affecting pensions, welfare benefits, and executive compensation in one coordinated, multi-faceted package,” says T. David Cowart, of Dentons US LLP. “It is, and always has been, the premier program for the attorney or advisor who needs a concentrated, focused, and comprehensive look at the areas that will demand his or her attention in the upcoming months.”

ALI CLE has amassed a diverse faculty of professionals from large and small law firms, corporations, and the government, who hail from varying locations across the country. The two and a half day program will give registrants ample opportunity to ask the faculty questions and brainstorm strategies. Registrants also enjoy various networking breaks to foster the creation of mutually-beneficial referral relationships.

As Cowart explains, “Those who are experienced and demand up-to-the-minute access to decision makers and premier advisors, and those who want to be, will insist on being at this program.”

Pension, Profit-Sharing, Welfare, and Other Compensation Plans offers more than 16 hours of CLE instruction, including one hour of ethics, as well as up to 19.5 CPE credits in Business Law. To register or obtain further information, click here.
