AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies Health Plans Rank in Nation’s Top 50 Medicaid Plans

PHILADELPHIA, PA – AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies announced today that three of its health plans – Keystone Mercy Health Plan, AmeriHealth Mercy Health Plan and Select Health of South Carolina – maintained Excellent Accreditation ratings, the highest possible rating, from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).

The NCQA, an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to assessing and reporting on the quality of managed care plans, also ranked Keystone Mercy 22nd, AmeriHealth Mercy 33rdand Select Health 42ndout of the 227 Medicaid health plans in the country through NCQA’s Medicaid Health Insurance Plan Rankings 2012-2013.

NCQA’s Medicaid Health Insurance Plan Rankings 2012-2013 are based on member satisfaction and clinical quality that meet or exceed NCQA's rigorous requirements for consumer protection and quality improvement. The requirements utilized the Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) and the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS), as well as HEDIS Clinical prevention and treatment rankings and NCQA Accreditation standards.
