The Castle Classic, the elite men’s road cycling event, is running in the city for the third year running, and helping increase the profile of the sport in Leicestershire.  The Vélobici Corporate Challenge is a supporting event for amateurs from the county to compete in a team event to complete a course around the historic city centre. The four team members will each have to complete a lap of the 1.5km technical course that takes in Castle Gardens and Western Boulevard.

County cycling chic brand Vélobici has been supporting the Castle Classic event for three years now. Brand owner Chris Puttnam commented; “Leicestershire is a haven for road cyclists and to have an elite cycling event here in the county is a great way to celebrate that fact. Vélobici is proud to be supporting the event in a number of ways, including acting as a feed station for the Sportive on Saturday 15thand being a main sponsor and providing the prizes for the Corporate Classic on Sunday 16th. We would encourage keen cyclists from businesses around the county to get involved.”

Janet Hudson from British Cycling said: “The Castle Classic is always a popular event in the elite cycling calendar, and we are excited to work with local partners like Vélobici to help promote the sport in the county. We would encourage any organisation who can pull together a team of four enthusiastic cyclists to enter and be a part of this thrilling event.”
