AniCura, one of Europe’s leading providers of high-quality veterinary care for companion animals, creates a regional hub with six clinics in northern Norway. The purpose is to strengthen the availability and development of advanced veterinary care in the region.

AniCura’s new regional hub for veterinary care in northern Norway consists of AniCura Dyresykehuset Tromsø, AniCura Dyreklinikken Tromsdalen and AniCura Dyreklinikken Kvaløya alongside three new clinics who joined AniCura on September 1; Harstad Dyreklinikk, Sortland Dyreklinikk and Finnsnes Dyreklinikk. Together, the clinics treat around 46 000 patients annually and employ more than 40 veterinary professionals in northern Norway.

- There is a clear demand for more advanced veterinary care and better availability in northern Norway where the population is spread across a large geographical area. By combining the competencies and resources of these high-quality clinics we can develop the veterinary care offering in the region in a way that was previously not possible, says Øyvind Johnsen Brøgger, Business Area Manager AniCura Norway.

AniCura Dyresykehuset Tromsø will serve as the regional animal hospital and provide advanced diagnostics and surgery. The three new, well-established local clinics will continue to build on their already existing services at each location. Sortland Dyreklinikk is especially known for its competencies within orthopaedics and the clinic receives referrals from across the region. Harstad Dyreklinikk offers high-quality ophthalmology, internal medicine and ultrasound services and Finnsnes Dyreklinikk also brings additional expertise within dermatology.

- Together, we have the geographical reach and can share competencies between us. For our employees, there will be greater career opportunities and possibilities to develop through knowledge sharing between clinics, says Bente Akselsen, new regional manager for AniCura in northern Norway.

AniCura Dyresykehuset Tromsø, AniCura Dyreklinikken Tromsdalen and AniCura Dyreklinikken Kvaløya joined AniCura already in 2014, and the three new clinics became part of AniCura on September 1st, 2017.
