AniCura, one of Europe’s leading providers of high-quality veterinary care for companion animals, has acquired Heimdal Dyreklinikk, one of the Trondheim area's most experienced animal clinics. The partnership with AniCura provides the clinic's staff with the opportunity to further develop their skills and offer additional specialized treatment to the clinic's large customer base.

Heimdal Dyreklinikk, formerly Heimdal Veterinærkontor, was established in 1973. The clinic enjoys a strong reputation and has become one of the largest, most widely used animal clinics in Trondheim and Sør-Trøndelag, attending to approximately 20 000 patients every year.

The clinic offers broad veterinary care services, with deep expertise within surgery, reproduction and ophthalmology (eye diseases). It also has extensive expertise in insemination and in storage and freezing of sperm with its own sperm bank. Together with partner clinics, Heimdal Dyreklinikk offer around-the-clock emergency care services at nights and weekends.

In addition to the outpatient clinic and operating theaters, the 500 square metre premises also house a comprehensive rehabilitation department that includes a large swimming pool and water treadmill.

– We've enjoyed fantastic growth and a great influx of patients over the past decades. Pet owners often tell us they enjoy visiting us and trust our ability to take care of their pets. This is important for us. To keep on developing our skills and competencies for the future, we've held discussions with several different potential partners, but we immediately felt that AniCura’s values reflected our own. What's more, AniCura has a long-term view on things. This gives us new opportunities for developing staff skills as we've come as far as we can by our own efforts in our current structure, says Geir Inge Relling, Practice Manager at Heimdal Dyreklinikk.

– We are very pleased to welcome another busy, well-liked clinic to the AniCura family. Along with other AniCura animal hospitals and clinics in the region, Heimdal Dyreklinikk will now be able to offer pet owners in the Trondheim area even broader expertise and a more profound presence, says Øyvind Johnsen Brøgger, Business Area Manager, AniCura Norway.
