Looking For Nordic Unicorns: An Event That Raised Over €120 Million

The next Nordic startup superstar will be born on June 3rd in Helsinki, when investors will pick the winner of the Arctic15 pitching competition and award them with a 50,000 euros investment by FIBAN.

The competition is the largest startup award in the Nordics so far this year. The previous finalists have in total raised over 120 million EUR and in just a few years have led to two notable exits by Holvi and Tribal Studios.

In addition to the exits and funding, the Arctic15 contest has introduced several Northern Europe's most well known startups to a wider audience. Among others: Kiosked, Pipedrive, Infogr.am, Yousician and Transfluent have competed in the contest.

“Arctic15 competition has been an amazing launch pad for an impressive row of successful Nordic startups,” said Jaakko Salminen, Chairman of FiBAN.

“Pitching competitions are generally a good practice for talking about your business, but as with everything at Arctic15 - it’s not about practice but execution. So if you do well, you get an investment from some of the top angels in Finland immediately,” commented Dmitri Sarle, the CEO of ArcticStartup.

For startups the deadline to apply is May 5th and the finalists will be pitching at Arctic15 on June 3rd in Helsinki, Finland.
