Denmark´s largest public sector contracting authorities, Moderniseringsstyrelsen and SKI, announced today that they have completed their evaluation of Atea self-cleaning program in accordance with EU legislation and Danish procurement law. The authorities have concluded that the self-cleaning program undertaken by Atea Denmark provides sufficient reliability against future corruption and misconduct. All restrictions on Atea´s ability to do business on normal terms with Modneriseringsstyrelsen and SKI are therefore lifted from today.

According to the announcement, SKI and Moderniseringsstyrelsen will during the coming next 4 years follow up on its assessment through additional documentation from Atea Denmark. Atea Denmark will fulfill such requrements.

“It is our judgement that Atea has provided sufficient documentation of its reliability, and therefore that there is no basis for excluding Atea from participating in future procurement processes,” stated Moderniseringsstyrelsen and SKI in a letter to Atea.

"We are very pleased that the Danish public contracting authorities have formally recognized Atea’s actions to prevent corruption and misconduct by accepting our self-cleaning program.” commented Steinar Sønsteby, CEO of Atea ASA.

Atea aims to be a leader in ethics and corporate social responsibility and has over the last three years built a compliance organization which we consider to be a model for our industry. Last year, Atea became the first company in Denmark to obtain the ISO 37001 certification for anti-bribery systems, following an audit from Bureau Veritas. Our compliance processes have been audited by major customers, including the United Nations.
