Attendo AB (publ) acquires operations in Sweden and Finland

Attendo has entered into binding agreements to acquire care companies Samsa and Onnentäyttymys Oy. Through the acquisition, Attendo will strengthen its position in highly specialized care in Sweden and improve its presence within care for older people in the capital area of Finland.

Samsa AB was founded in 2002 and has 20 units in operation in Central Sweden with a combined turnover of around 150 MSEK (2015). The company has been focusing primarily on persons with needs for highly specialized care, including homes and activities centres for persons with various disabilities (LSS), residential care homes (HVB) and a school in grades 7-9 for schoolchildren with special needs. All in all, the purchase will add 107 beds in LSS and HVB homes, and 5 beds under construction in one group home that will be opened in the fall.

Onnentäyttymys Oy was founded in 2008 and has since 2010 been operating one nursing home for older people with 20 beds in Pornainen, north-east of Helsinki. The company also has four ongoing construction projects in and around the city of Helsinki with 117 new beds in nursing homes. The agreement also includes the rights to three upcoming projects with a possible start of construction in the second half of 2016.
