AU-System signs general agreement with ATG

AU-System signs general agreement with ATG Stockholm, Sweden - 18 December 2001 - AU-System has signed a 12-month general agreement with the Swedish betting firm ATG concerning IT consulting services. Among other things, the agreement covers consulting services for systems development, technical project management and business development. Under the agreement AU-System will help ATG to develop new services and activities and contribute to realising them technically. "AU-System will use its technical expertise to help us to continue creating new business opportunities in our organisation," says Jan Wiberg, head of IT at ATG. "Our decision to enter into the agreement with AU-System was greatly influenced by their structured way of working and their in-depth technical knowledge, especially in the area of security." AU-System has previously worked with ATG in testing and overhauling the company's technical infrastructure. AU-System has also acted as an adviser to ATG during its work to produce solutions for cashless payments via smart cards. "ATG is a long way ahead in exploiting new technology in its services," says Johan Nyberg, business area manager at AU-System. "The increasing global competition in the betting market means that innovative solutions and services provide an important way of competing." ATG has a 33 per cent share of the Swedish betting market and a turnover of about SKr10.5bn a year. Today an increasing proportion of the company's turnover comes from betting services provided via new media such as the Internet, digital TV and mobile phones.
