Axel Johnson International acquires Sternhammar

Axel Johnson International is strengthening its position in the Nordic region by acquiring vehicle component distributor Sternhammar. Sternhammar will be a part of Axel Johnson International’s business group Industrial Solutions and a sister company to ABKATI and Widni. Hans Svensson has been appointed acting Manging Director of Sternhammar, effective September first.

Sternhammar, with SEK 63 million in revenue and approximately 20 employees, have a recognised brand name in Sweden and a history of growing market share. The company is a leading distributor of vehicle components with a focus on personal protective equipment, general supply components, and lighting products.

Sternhammar was established in 1938 in Örebro and has long-term relationships with customers and suppliers. The company was acquired from two brothers, Per and Erik Jonsson, who have been the owners since 2010.

“I would also like to welcome Hans Svensson as new acting Managing Director for Sternhammar. With his extensive experience in distribution of vehicle components, latest as MD for VEGE Motor in Helsingborg, Hans will contribute to further developing Sternhammar”.

The acquisition was closed September first, 2017.
