In January, Bactiguard exhibited for the first time at the Conference of Urological Society of India together with its Indian distributor Biorad Medisys Pvt Ltd. The congress was an important step in launching Bactiguard’s Infection Protection products in the Indian market.

The annual Conference of Urological Society of India (USICON), arranged for the 49th time, gathered around 2 300 delegates. The congress offered a great opportunity to launch Bactiguard’s Foley catheters to urologists from across the country together with the new distributor Biorad Medisys Pvt Ltd. Almost a thousand doctors and urologists visited the booth and there was a remarkable interest in Bactiguard´s Infection Protection products.

- Our participation was successful and during the days we established new contacts, booked many follow-up meetings and also received several orders. We are proud to be associated with Bactiguard, and hope that this association will be a successful partnership, says J M Hedge, Managing Director Biorad Medisys Pvt Ltd.

Healthcare associated infections is a worldwide and severe problem. India has a very high consumption of antibiotics and a high level of multi-resistant bacteria. The need for preventive actions such as Bactiguard infection protection products is therefore urgently needed.

- Our technology offers a safe, well-proven and patient friendly solution for the healthcare sector. I strongly believe in our partnership with Biorad Medisys Pvt Ltd. Our ongoing trials in India will also further strengthen the clinical evidence that our products are effective and cost-efficient in the battle against healthcare associated infections in India, says Johan Rugfelt, COO Bactiguard.

The market introduction activities will continue across the country and in the first week of February Bactiguard will be exhibiting at the annual conference of Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine & International Sepsis in Agra in India.
