BIMobject starts strategic cooperation with Sigma Estimates

BIMobject, which offers a global cloud-based platform and marketplace for digital building and interior decoration products, starts a strategic cooperation with software developer Sigma Estimates. The software company develops cost calculation software and price databases for the construction industry. The cooperation means that platforms will be synchronized, linking both 3D data (models) and 5D data (costs).

For BIMobject's and Sigma Estimates’ end users, this initially means that digital construction products can be linked to cost calculation software after being inserted into CAD or BIM platforms. Ultimately, cost calculation will be faster and integrated into all stages of a design process.

The strategic cooperation between BIMobject and Sigma Estimates is a good example of how a digital ecosystem in the global construction industry is being created as more and more independent parties merge in the international BIM community. This means that parties open up for a variety of tools and services to connect to each other through open APIs and cloud services. In the long run, the usage of BIM and CAD software and standards are likely to be completely seamless.

Results of the cooperation will be showcased on November 13-15, 2018, at both companies’ stands at Autodesk University in Las Vegas. Many more examples of how the companies lead the construction industry's digitization will also be shown.

"Ecosystems of connected software are rapidly becoming one of the key developments in the BIM industry. The cooperation with Sigma Estimates clearly shows how our API can be used to create synergies with other platforms, and significantly improve the construction and design processes", says Stefan Larsson, CEO and founder of BIMobject.
