Optimum Motorsport are flying out to Dubai today for the Dubai 24hr (January 10-12, 2013), which is now less than 7 days away. This week, teams from across the world will be arriving in Dubai with over 80 cars now awaiting their arrival at the Dubai Autodrome Circuit for the first international endurance race of the year for GTs, touring cars and 24H Specials.

Joe Osborne and Lee Mowle, two of last year’s winning team, will be partnered by Flick Haigh and Ryan Ratcliffe.

As well as retaining its GT4 title, Optimum Motorsport is aiming to secure a top ten finish having finished 14th overall last year. Team Principal, Shaun Goff is quietly confident, “We have another strong driver line up this year and as a team we are 12 months more experienced, so a class win is a very realistic goal, and if we can stay out of trouble a top ten finish would be fantastic.”

Optimum Motorsport will again race its Ginetta G50 GT4 which proved to be the car to beat on the fast flowing 5.4km Grand Prix Circuit last year, completing no less than 560 laps, some 3,018 kilometres.

The Dunlop 24H Dubai events is one of the highlights of the 24H Series, attracting teams from around the world. More than 80 teams, representing nearly 20 countries, including the USA, Europe, the Middle East, the Far East and Australia, have entered the 2013 event.

The race also provides motor racing fans the opportunity to see many of the world’s best known brands being put to the ultimate endurance test. Cars contesting the outright win in 2013 will include the GT3 Mercedes SLS, Audi R8, BMW Z4, Porsche 997 and Ferrari 458.

Beyond the 24 hour endurance race, Dubai is a spectacular destination well worthy of its millionaire’s paradise reputation. Luxury hotels and shopping malls, beautiful beaches, a wide range of sporting facilities and high quality restaurants make any trip to Dubai memorable.

The Dunlop 24H Dubai is televised live on MOTORS TV and Dubai TV in cooperation with Radio Le Mans. Live TV coverage is also available on the internet. Race highlights are broadcast to over 40 countries by Motors TV, Sky Sports, Speed Australia, Speed2 USA, Sportklub and Mobile 1 The Grid giving the event huge global exposure, providing an excellent branding opportunity for sponsors.
