Blueair, the world’s top indoor air purifier, is staging a unique lecture and reception in Chicago on Friday, March 9 to mark it’s launch of a radically new air cleaner with out-of-the-envelope customer-driven design and technology.

A finalist in the Chicago Homes + Housewares Show Innovation Awards, the Blueair Sense advances the state of the art home air cleaning to remove 99.97% of allergens, viruses and more from polluted air. And it achieves it with an appliance designed by globally acclaimed Swedish architecture and design studio Claesson Koivisto Rune (CKR).

CKR has created a contemporary glass and steel design that harnesses a revolutionary interactive, motion sensitive tempered glass for increased simplicity and use. The futuristic top replaces the physical use of a knob, allowing users to change air-cleaning speed with simple, gentle hand movements just above the scratchproof surface.

The Blueair Sense world launch lecture and reception will take place with the founders of Claesson Koivisto Rune on Friday, March 9, between 6 – 7 pm at the Zolla/Lieberman Gallery at 325 Wst Huron, Chicaco. It will be followed by a reception at the Luminaire Showroom at 301 West Superior.

“The Blueair Sense is not only designed to clean indoor air faster of pollutants than similarly sized competing products, but also blends seamlessly into the most avant garde home and office environments with a hitherto unseen color pal- ette,” says Herman Pihlträd, Blueair chief executive.

About Luminaire

Luminaire has been a pioneering force in the design world for over 38 years, during which time it has reshaped the idea of what a design store can be. Luminaire is more than a furniture showroom. It is an interactive design research center, a playground for the soul, an esplanade for discovery. More than anything else, however, it is a resource focused on creating environments that affect people’s lives.

About Claesson Koivisto Rune

Claesson Koivisto Rune was founded in Stockholm in 1995 by Mårten Claesson, Eero Koivisto and Ola Rune. It started as – and remains – an architectural office, but since has become multi- disciplinary, which in this case means that prod- uct design is also practiced with equal emphasis. The work has earned numerous awards including “Designer of the Year 2011” (Elle Interiör), “Best Domestic Design 2010” (Wallpaper) and “German Design Award (Gold) 2011” by the Federal Republic of Germany.
