A settlement has been reached in the patent dispute between Brighter on the one hand and Hotswap, now renamed Amundsen Förvaltning with its subsidiary Amundsen Engineering, on the other hand. The settlement means that Amundsen renounces all claims of ownership and other claims in the dispute at hand regarding the inventions and other intellectual property of Brighter now and in the future.

"We have always been of the opinion that we have better right to those patents, but that we should pay the established compensation of inventors. The settlement means that the approval processes continue at the usual pace and that we can focus on the new patent application processes that we have launched in, for example, Brazil, India, Indonesia and Europe, says Truls Sjöstedt, CEO of Brighter.

The settlement applies to patent applications 1351376-7 and 1550571-2, regarding a medical device with safety features, and with the settlement Amundsen Förvaltning and Amundsen Engineering undertake not to attack the patents or file any claims regarding them in the future. The settlement also means Brighter pays 65,000 kronor which corresponds to the accepted cost referring to the established inventor’s compensations.
