Brighter has signed an agreement for contributing to the development of the first healthcare initiative within Indonesia Mampu, a program of works led by Palladium and the Indonesian government body National Team Secretariat for Accelerating Poverty Reduction (TNP2K). Indonesia Mampu’s partnership framework is aimed at alleviating poverty in Indonesia through a positive impact program based on four pillars of which one is healthcare. As part of this pillar there will be a focus on diabetes prevention and treatment where Brighter’s knowledge and technology will be an important component.

A vital part of the Indonesia Mampu approach is the participation of the private sector, and therefore the program selects the best suitable partners within different sectors for its diabetes prevention and treatment initiative; including food & nutrition, tech & data and pharma & health where Brighter with its Actiste® is sorted under as the only diabetes management tool.

“Palladium & TNP2K are excited to welcome Brighter to the Cegah Risiko Tinggi Partnership Indonesia Mampu’s first initiative in the healthcare space. Brighter brings extensive experience in creating innovative solutions for health management and integrated data systems regarding diabetes management, which is key to improve the diabetes landscape in Indonesia. Statistics show that diabetes prevalence among Indonesia’s youth is higher than average; with a projected growth to become the world’s fourth largest. We look forward to working together to tackle this issue and deliver positive impact in Indonesia," says Armando Cubillan, Director of Positive Impact Partnerships, Palladium Indonesia.

The program aims to map and identify the true number of people living with diabetes in a multi-step approach. The Cegah Risiko Tinggi Partnership within Indonesia Mampu will unite government agencies, policy makers, professionals in diabetes treatment, private sector and donors to create awareness of diabetes, develop promotive-preventive initiatives, and facilitate treatment with the goal of reducing the growth rate of the disease in Indonesia. The result is expected, among other things, to generate an increase of access to state of the art diabetes treatment and management. The partnership will help Brighter to penetrate Indonesia’s market by enhancing its current efforts with Indosat Ooredoo and Ericsson.

“Brighter is committed to provide access to diabetes management and innovative solutions for patients across Indonesia, and this partnership will help us to strengthen and materialise that commitment,” says Truls Sjöstedt, CEO and founder of Brighter.

Within the partnership Brighter will:

  • Enable remote monitoring and follow-up using the Actiste Diabetes Management as a Service.
  • Train personnel to be able to train users in all available channels on how to manage their condition with help of Actiste.
  • Enable direct real time upload of data from Actiste on to a centralised database.
  • Enable real time shared KPIs through its system that can measure and analyse Big Data and impact to determine best interventions.
