California Hotel & Lodging Association Announces 2016 Board of Directors

San Diego, California - The California Hotel & Lodging Association (CH&LA) elected its 2016 Board of Directors at its annual meeting this past Thursday, November 19 at the US Grant Hotel in San Diego. The 2016 chair will be Tom Klein of the Fairmont San Francisco. In addition, the elected officers for the 2016 Board of Directors were announced as Richard Hill, Sheraton Grand Sacramento (Vice Chair); Elvin Lai, Ocean Park Inn (Secretary/Treasurer); and Terri Haack, Terranea Resort (Immediate Past Chair).  Other members of the Executive Committee include René Boskoff, Monterey Marriott (Chair of the Gov’t & Legal Relations) and Laurenne Douglas, Pacific Plaza Hotels (Chair of the Audit & Investment Committee).

Eight Board Members with expiring terms are renewing their Board positions. These members are Ed Bear, Auto Clerk; René Boskoff, Marriott Monterey; Peggy Mosley, Groveland Hotel; Candace Savage, USA Today; Pat Seminario, Newport Beach Marriott Hotel & Spa; Marcy Tanner, Disneyland Hotel; and Wes Tyler, CHA, Chancellor Hotel. Bimal Patel, CHA, Concept Hotels, will leave the executive committee and re-join the Board of Directors.

There are two incoming Board of Directors - Matt Adams, Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego and Bijal Patel, Coast Redwood Hospitality & Management.

There are two outgoing Board of Directors - John Schafer, Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego and Luis Barrios, Hilton San Diego Airport/Harbor Island. Luis is a past Chair so he automatically is recognized as an Emeritus Advisor to the Board.
