Sacramento, Calif. – The California Hotel & Lodging Association Education Foundation (CH&LAEF) is honored to grant nearly $20,000 in scholarships to this year’s award recipients.

Applications were received from students representing colleges from throughout the state. While there were many qualified applicants, the selected recipients are exemplary students, most of whom are already working in hospitality and will become assets to the industry.

President and CEO of CH&LA, Lynn S. Mohrfeld, CAE said, “We are proud to support our industry by providing financial resources for future hospitality leaders to pursue higher education.”

CH&LAEF strives to increase awareness of the career paths offered in the hospitality industry and to assist the students who have chosen to pursue them.  By supporting hospitality education, we are doing our part to maintain and advance the high level of service provided by California’s hotel & lodging industry.

Mohrfeld said, “An educated workforce is a strong workforce, so we are thankful for the generous donations from hotels all over California that made the scholarships possible by donating room nights and packages for the annual Auction to Grow Hospitality Education.”
