California Hotel & Lodging Association Recognizes California Recipients of National Foundation Awards

California Hotel & Lodging Association’s (CH&LA) national affiliate, American Hotel & Lodging Educational Foundation (AH&LEF) has distributed a total of $43,000 in scholarship awards to 25 California students at seven different hospitality programs:

Jennifer Hecker - San Diego State University

Nicole Huebner - City College of San Francisco

Joelyn Ivankovic - California State Polytechnic University Pomona

Jake Izzo - Santa Barbara City College

Mario Jaramillo - California State Polytechnic University Pomona

Daniel Knight - City College of San Francisco

Kathleen Leo - University of San Francisco

Elizabeth Levin - San Diego State University

Linda McComb - Santa Barbara City College

Rick Richardson - California State Polytechnic University Pomona

Scholarships are awarded based on academic performance, hospitality work experience, financial need and other requirements based on specific criteria of the scholarship. In addition, all of the scholarships are funded by voluntary industry contributions.

“These scholarships enable our industry to connect tomorrow’s hospitality leaders with the financial means they need for success in their professional development,” said Lynn Mohrfeld, President & CEO of CH&LA. “We’re proud that these California students were chosen from the thousands of applications AH&LEF receives.”
