SACRAMENTO, CA. – Aug. 7, 2018 – The California Hotel & Lodging Association issued the following statement about the Long Beach City Council’s decision to pursue an economic impact study and place the Hotel Workplace Requirements and Restrictions measure on the Nov. 6, 2018 ballot.

“We applaud the City Council’s decision to undergo an economic impact study so Long Beach citizens can learn the consequences of this rushed, industry-specific ballot proposal,” said Lynn Mohrfeld, President and CEO, California Hotel & Lodging Association.  “It will shed much-needed light on a proposal that was rejected by the City Council last year because it imposes overzealous work rules in the name of safety that are designed to force increased staffing and increased costs.”
