Caverion delivers a Large Project for National Gallery of Denmark ensuring a better indoor climate for the art

Caverion has signed an agreement with the National Gallery of Denmark in Copenhagen on the delivery of a Large Project for replacement of installations. The contract has a volume of approximately EUR 5.4 million.

The gallery building is being equipped with water-based district heating and therefore new humidifiers must be installed. This leads to substantial refurbishment of the affected ventilation systems as well as electricity and heating & sanitation systems. The replacement of installations is necessitated by the fact that during 2017 HOFOR (Greater Copenhagen Utility) ceases to provide steam supply to the building. The steam is now used partly for heating the building and partly for direct humidification of ventilation air.

“We are happy to help ensure a better indoor climate for the many pieces of art in the National Gallery of Denmark,” says Knut Gaaserud, Executive Vice President & CEO, division Denmark-Norway of Caverion.

HOFOR ensures the conversion of heat exchange. Caverion’s responsibility in the project includes removal of the steam distribution system in the building and installation of a new heating distribution system. Caverion’s experts also take care of replacing the cooling system.

The National Gallery of Denmark presents Danish art to the world and the world’s art to Denmark. The museum houses Denmark’s largest collection of art experiences and is operated by 180 members of staff.

Project starts in November 2016 and will be completed in the end of 2017. Caverion is responsible for Project Execution for the following technical disciplines: Ventilation, Electricity, Heating & Sanitation and Cooling. The builder is the National Gallery of Denmark. Project belongs to Caverion’s real estate user’s client segment.
