CELLINK receives design patent

CELLINK has been granted design protection for the company's latest product, the BIO X 3D Bioprinter. The design protection is one component of the company's IP strategy to protect its assets.

The product has been designed for maximum user-friendliness, flexibility, and functionality. The pattern protection / design patent creates greater entry barriers and protects the product's unique design. The product's design enables clean environment prints, access to all functionality throughout the printing process, complete standalone capabilities, and the possibility of enormous flexibility in different printing technologies through the exchangeable print heads. BIO X is the only Bioprinter in the world that in the same device of that footprint can offer cooled print bed and temperature controlled print heads.

“We are stoked to have our first design patent granted and it aligns well with our aggressive technology development timelines” Erik Gatenholm, CEO.

About CELLINK

CELLINK has created one of the world's first universal Bioinks, today used by many of the world's most well-reputed research institutions. A Bioink can be mixed with living cells to print functional human tissues and if future research is successful, eventually, complete human organs in so-called 3D-Bioprinters. CELLINK's universal Bioink shows excellent results and can be used in both CELLINK's proprietary 3D Bioprinters and in 3D Bioprinters developed by other operators.
