Families and lovers of children’s literature will enjoy meeting Kate DiCamillo, the award-winning author of many books for young readers, as she visits Charlotte during the tour of her latest novel, Raymie Nightingale at a free, ticketed event on Sunday, September 11 at ImaginOn. [Update: Tickets for this event are now sold out.]

DiCamillo’s books have been awarded the Newbery Medal (The Tale of Despereaux); the Newbery Honor (Because of Winn-Dixie), the Boston Globe Horn Book Award (The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane), and the Theodor Geisel Medal and honor (Bink and Gollie, co-author Alison McGhee; and Mercy Watson Goes for a Ride).

During her visit to ImaginOn, DiCamillo will read aloud from her newest novel, Raymie Nightingale, answer questions and sign copies of her books. Her books will be available for purchase on site the day of the event, courtesy of Park Road Books.

This free event is presented by Charlotte Mecklenburg Library and Children’s Theater of Charlotte, in partnership with Park Road Books. The location for the event, ImaginOn, is an award-winning collaborative venture of the Library and Children’s Theatre and a premier destination for children and families.
