FYLDE COAST ARC SECURE NEW BUSINESS WITH THE BSI KITEMARK®

Fylde Coast ARC in Blackpool has secured new business since gaining the Kitemark over three years ago when they were the first bodyshop in Lancashire and 12th in the UK. David Hyland established the successful bodyshop over 30 years ago. Now his site is over 27,000 foot, he has 30 staff and is capable of repairing between 85-90 cars a week. David was confident that the Kitemark was going to play a pivotal role in the industry and knew the Kitemark achievement would send a clear message of his commitment to providing the very best repair standards to his customers and work providers. David commented: “I knew as soon as PAS 125 came along that it was here to stay it is not just for high technology cars- it is for everyday cars. I knew that if we adopted PAS 125 early we could really market our bodyshop as a forward and progressive business and this would raise our profile significantly within the Industry. Also PAS 125 was well received internally, as my team are open to new ideas and actively embrace them. In addition all staff saw the benefits it would bring to the bodyshop and themselves. “The Kitemark brand has set us apart. Customers have received it well. There has also been a real cash benefit to the business with new business being secured including fleet work and a contact from Blackpool Council. Turnover is up 35 % since gaining the Kitemark for Vehicle Body Repair.” David describes himself as pro active and feels that staying ahead of the game is the way forward. He has also recently set up a fast-track repair shop, which provides a 24-hour turnaround on selected jobs.
