Organized by Per Scholas and Information Technology Senior Management Forum, Inaugural Event will Convene Fortune 500, Social Change Leaders to Foster More Inclusive Workplaces

On June 21, Per Scholas and the Information Technology Senior Management Forum (ITSMF) will together host Diverse by Design, the first in a conversation series about building diversity and inclusion in the workforce. Diverse by Design will feature a keynote address from Linda Clement-Holmes, Procter & Gamble’s Chief Information Officer, several short Ignite presentations, and two powerful panels: one on the topic of innovation, the second on solutions.

“A lot of organizations talk about diversity, but at Per Scholas, we live it every day. We see it in our students, we see it among our faculty and staff, and we’re helping to drive diverse talent pipelines to our corporate employer partners. Research shows that diverse companies outperform those that aren’t, and we’re hopeful that Diverse by Design will continue to change the way we think about recruiting and hiring talent across corporate America,” said Plinio Ayala, president and chief executive officer, Per Scholas.

More than 150 C-suite attendees will hear from Fortune 500 thought leaders in technology, finance, energy, healthcare, and social impact from companies including Accenture, Barclays, Capital One, Google, JetBlue Airways, Johnson & Johnson, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Pepco Holdings, and Verizon. Diverse by Design will take place at Google’s New York City Headquarters through a partnership with the Black Googler Network (BGN).

“ITSMF believes that diverse leadership invites new perspectives needed for experimentation, innovation and growth. This partnership with Per Scholas represents ITSMF’s commitment to increasing the representation of diverse talent at all levels within the technology industry, and to transforming leaders...mind, body and soul,” said Viola Maxwell-Thompson, president, ITSMF.

Diverse by Design is hosted by Per Scholas, a national social change nonprofit that prepares motivated adults who are un- or underemployed with the technical and business skills to launch life-changing careers in technology. The event is co-hosted by ITSMF, the only national organization dedicated to exclusively cultivating professional talent among African-American IT executives.
