Collector expands in Finland by offering real estate credits

Report this content

Collector Bank AB is expanding its Finnish operations by extending the product offering and launching real estate credits. The Finnish property market is considered to be experiencing excellent growth with an attractive risk profile. Collector Real Estate Credits Finland is headed by Lorenz Merk.

Since 2013, Collector Bank has offered real estate credits to property companies, primarily in Sweden. The underlying properties have provided the collateral for these loans. As these credits tend to be subordinated in nature, they constitute a supplement to traditional loan products. In connection with the successful development of the business area in recent years, individual transactions have also been carried out in Norway and Finland.

The granting of credits related to property transactions requires good local knowledge for a correct assessment of the risks and opportunities linked to potential transactions. To create opportunities for additional growth in the Finnish market, Collector has engaged the services of Lorenz Merk as the head of Collector Property Finance Finland. Lorenz has extensive experience in property management, financing issues and business evaluations. Lorenz will be located at Collector Bank’s Helsinki office.

“In conjunction with the excellent performance of real estate credits in Sweden, this will strengthen our Nordic business.” Stefan Alexandersson, CEO, Collector
