WDCB’s use of the 90.7 signal in Chicago is the result of a collaboration between WDCB and Chicago Public Media.

WDCB 90.9 FM, which has served Chicagoland for 39 years through its 5000 watt FM signal at 90.9 from west suburban Glen Ellyn, has added a second signal at 90.7FM.

Based in Chicago, FM 90.7 will bring better reception to Chicago residents and commuters in Chicago’s West Loop. WDCB, known as “Chicago’s Home for Jazz,” is a professionally staffed, listener-supported, public radio station located at College of DuPage.

WDCB’s use of the 90.7 signal in Chicago is the result of a collaboration between WDCB and Chicago Public Media. The recently-finalized agreement significantly broadens the audience reach for both WDCB on 90.7 and CPM’s Vocalo translator signal at 91.1, and allows WDCB to broadcast 24/7 on WRTE 90.7, a CPM-owned signal that originates from Chicago’s near west side, as well as strengthening Vocalo’s 91.1 translator signal on the South and North Sides of Chicago. WDCB will continue to broadcast throughout Chicagoland on its primary signal at 90.9FM.

Known as “Chicago’s Home for Jazz,” WDCB is a professionally staffed, listener-supported, public radio station serving Chicagoland and the world with more than 125 hours of jazz each week. The station also provides blues and folk/Americana music, local news and hosts and sponsors numerous concerts throughout the year. WDCB can be heard locally throughout the Chicago area on 90.9FM, in Chicago’s “West Loop” on 90.7FM or streaming worldwide on www.WDCB.org as well as in the city of Chicago through cable television on CAN TV42.
