iTUX, which is part of the Com Hem Group, has been communications operator for Framtidens Bredband (“Broadband of the Future”) – the open broadband network of Förvaltnings AB Framtiden – since 2010. As the existing agreement will expire in 2018, AB Framtiden conducted a procurement process that resulted in iTUX being awarded the contract to distribute digital services to 72,000 households in Gothenburg, Sweden, for another agreement period. The new agreement extends from October 2018 until October 2026.

Framtiden’s Broadband is an open fibre network for digital services such as TV, broadband and telephony. The network will be upgraded during the agreement period to deliver broadband speeds of up to 1,000 Mbit per second. This work will begin at the end of 2018.

“We are very proud that AB Framtiden has again entrusted us to operate its broadband network. We have had a highly productive business relationship since 2010 and we see the new agreement as further proof that our strategy of providing a high-quality network, low retail prices and maximum choice is effective,” says Christer Andersson, CEO of iTUX.

“With the new agreement, our entire broadband network will be upgraded to gigabyte capacity, which not only enables higher broadband speeds for our tenants but also gives us access to high capacity for our internal administrative network. The new agreement allows us to ensure reliable and high-quality delivery of broadband services for many years to come, at the lowest prices in the market,” says Emma Axelsson, Administrative Manager at Framtidens Bredband.

Förvaltnings AB Framtiden is the Parent Company of the City of Gothenburg’s four public housing companies.
