The world’s largest biotech convention takes place June 6-9 in San Francisco. It is BIO International Convention (BIO) that returns to the birthplace of biotech: San Francisco and the Bay Area. CombiGene AB is represented by CEO Bengt Westrin, and Panion Animal Health AB is also present through Carlos Velez.

Over 15 000 industry leaders, business developers, scientists and other professionals will come to BIO2016 for networking or for participating in some of the numerous One-on-One partnering meetings which often can be the starting point of a longer collaboration. Almost 2 000 companies will exhibit and there is a number of side conferences, company presentations, courses etc. Most of the large pharma and biotech companies will attend the convention and so will a large number of small development companies, contract research organization, universities and other public organization from all over the world.

CombiGene’s main objective is to meet medium sized and large pharma companies, but also to meet companies with capacity for large scale GMP manufacturing of AAV vectors as well as some other highly specialized service providers. Several One-on-One meetings have already been agreed.

The newly started Panion Animal Health AB is not attending under its own brand, but Panion’s soon-to-be Director of Business Development Carlos Velez (Lacerta Bio) will be present and has the aim to meet animal health companies attending BIO2016.
