Coor wins new IFM assignment in the energy sector

Coor has signed a new contract with Uniper (via OKG) on the delivery and development of a portfolio of support services for Oskarshamn nuclear power plant.

Nuclear power generator OKG, whose majority owner is international energy group Uniper, generates nuclear power at the Simpevarp peninsula, north of Oskarshamn (which is south of Stockholm).

This new deal between Coor and Uniper/OKG is an integrated facility management (IFM) contract, involving Coor coordinating, developing and delivering a broad array of support services at OKG’s nuclear power facility. The deal has a three-year term with a one-year extension option. Total estimated yearly volume is some SEK 30 m, of which SEK 20 m is on a fixed subscription and the rest is variable project volumes.

Services Coor will be managing include decontamination, cleaning, waste management and a portfolio of office services. Coor already provides office services and deliveries to other customers in Oskarshamn, which does imply some local synergies. Coor will recruit some 30 – 35 employees to this assignment.

“Security and health and safety are especially central issues on this assignment. Coor has long-term experience of delivering services in sensitive environments, which combined with our sharp focus on HSEQ will be a good fit for this delivery. We’re looking forward to our mission of developing safe and cost-efficient solutions in partnership with OKG to support its operations optimally,” commented Klas Elmberg, Vice President of Coor in Sweden.

“OKG welcomes Coor, and we are looking forward to build a strong partnership during the years to come,” commented Jeanette Möller, Facility Management Manager at OKG.
