Students selected to present regional produce at  National Harvest Service at Birmingham Cathedral on 20 October

Students and Cucina chefs from two UK schools are to present specially prepared harvest boxes to HRH the Duchess of Cornwall in a high profile service at Birmingham Cathedral on 20 October.

The boxes, prepared by the school's students with Head Chefs Steve Bott and Matthew Kent, feature local breads, vegetables, fruit, herbs, jams and conserves from the counties of Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire.

At the conclusion of the special harvest service, the students and their chef will have the opportunity to chat to the Duchess of Cornwall about their harvest box and about the food traditions of their counties.

The schools’ harvest boxes will then be taken to the Birmingham Central Foodbank, operated by the Trussell Trust to provide emergency food and support to local people in crisis.

Head Chef Matthew Kent said: "It's been a great experience, working with the students to teach them about all the food local to them, and prepare this special harvest collection."

Head Chef Steve Bott said: "The last month has been fantastic. We've had the opportunity to work with Phil Howard, one of the country's finest chefs and present Michelin Star food to our students, and now we are presenting local produce of our areas in national celebration of British food."
