Christchurch, UK – Wednesday, 18 September 2013 – Curtiss-Wright Controls Industrial (CWCI) – a member of Curtiss-Wright Corporation and leaders in control devices and systems for industrial and medical vehicles and equipment – will be using its stand at the CeMAT Asia show in October to promote products from its three partner brands – PG Drives Technology, Williams Controls and Penny + Giles Controls.

It will be the first time products from all three CWCI division businesses will be on show together in Asia, and follows CWCI’s completion of the acquisition of PG Drives Technology and a merger with Williams Controls to complement its existing Penny + Giles brand.

For PG Drives Technology, a range of products will be on show at the exhibition including its C3 and C3pump. The C3 is a compact and cost-effective AC controller for small industrial vehicles including Class 3 pallet and stacker-type trucks and small ride-on machines. It is available with two power options (200A and 250A) and is compatible with all types of AC induction motors. The C3pump is designed for stacker truck applications with lifting hydraulics and, like the C3, is available with 200A or 250A operation at 24Vdc and combines an additional 330A dc pump drive for driving the lifting hydraulics. Already designed to meet EN1175, EN12895 and UL583 requirements, PG Drives Technology will also be previewing its next-generation C3, which has been updated to conform to the latest EN13849 machinery safety standards.

For Williams Controls, a selection of products from its electronic throttle controls range will be on show (including floor, narrow, suspended, LCV, EM and rocker versions). Particular focus will be on the new WM-528 – a low-profile, floor-mounted composite pedal that, using drive-by-wire technology, places all key components under the floor, providing protection from damage as drivers move in and out of the cab. Available with red or yellow pedal covers, the WM-528 rocker pedal is ideal for lift truck and other industrial applications and has been specifically designed to be robust and capable of providing directional control (FNR) and proportional output. Other Williams Controls products on show include lever-operated and rotary electronic hand controls; pressure regulating hydraulic and pneumatic throttle controls; and the WM-580 electronic CANbus joystick, which includes a fully-configurable button panel, Hall effect non-contact sensing, and a totally encapsulated CANbus circuit board.

On show for the first time will be the recently launched Penny + Giles ICT800 and ICT820 in-cylinder linear transducers which, by integrating signal conditioning into the sensor’s flange, simplifies installation, reduces interconnecting cabling and makes the sensor suitable for intelligent mobile hydraulics. The ICT800 features 12bit resolution and operates from either an 8 to 30Vdc (unregulated) supply or a 5Vdc (regulated) supply, while the ICT820 features 13bit resolution with a CAN SAE J1939 interface. Another newcomer making its debut in Asia is the Penny + Giles NRH275DR, a magnet-activated rotary position sensor featuring a slim, low-profile sensor housing and separate permanent magnet assembly. Other Penny + Giles products on show include its range of finger- and hand-operated joystick controllers, potentiometer and non-contact rotary position sensors and tilt sensors.
