Oslo, Norway – 18 December 2017 – Cxense ASA (OSE: CXENSE) today announced a partnership with Dow Jones to develop and market products based on Cxense’s data management and personalization software to The Wall Street Journal’s biggest advertisers. The new partnership follows the success in subscriber conversion with WSJ.com’s award-winning dynamic paywall powered by Cxense.

The Wall Street Journal will leverage Cxense’s DMP and personalization solution, including the Conversion Engine, to personalize custom content, as well as advertisements both on WSJ.com and clients’ web sites.

Cxense and The Wall Street Journal will over a six-month period jointly invest in developing and commercializing products aimed at driving user engagement and conversion rates on online campaigns for the Journal’s customers. The agreement builds on an ongoing relationship between Cxense and Dow Jones developed since 2013.

“Our solutions have enabled The Wall Street Journal to utilize its world-class content and put the reader first, leading to a significant increase in the number of paying subscribers“, said Christian Printzell Halvorsen, CEO of Cxense. “We are very pleased to expand that partnership, and look forward to developing new products and reaching new clients based on our software with one of the world’s leading publishers.”

WSJ's subscriber conversion model, which is based on Cxense software, has contributed to a 30% increase in WSJ digital subscriptions over the last year, and significantly reduced churn.

“We have had tremendous success with using audience data and real-time personalization to convert online readers to members using Cxense software. As we move beyond traditional advertising to offer powerful, integrated solutions for our customers, this partnership will deliver increased engagement and conversion for our biggest advertisers,” said Katie Vanneck Smith, President and Chief Customer Officer at Dow Jones.

Earlier this year, the Journal was recognized with the Axel Springer “Paid Content Award” for pioneering digital subscriptions 20 years ago, and for last year’s re-invention of its pay model by introducing of a new user-centric solution based on Cxense software.
