Today, 13 September 2018, D. Carnegie & Co has convened an extraordinary general meeting in order to change its trade name from D. Carnegie AB (publ) to Hembla AB (publ). Through the proposed name change, the company wants to further emphasize the core of its business model . The name is intended to clarify the company’s orientation and Hembla associates to something that is central in most people’s lives.

- The word “hem” means “home” in Swedish. The home is a special and important place. It is where children grow up, where music is played too loud and where birthdays are celebrated. It is also a place where one should feel safe and comfortable. A home is more than what exists between four walls. It includes the entire neighbourhood where one lives, which is precisely our focus and our vision – to offer our tenants the opportunity to live in good homes in attractive neighbourhoods, says Svein Erik Lilleland, CEO at D. Carnegie & Co.

He continues:

- The idea of a name change has grown gradually, and it is a natural step in our company development. Our tenants and their homes are our main priority. The new name clarifies this orientation, both to our tenants and to other stakeholders. Hembla is an accurate summary of our trade mark promise.

The extraordinary general meeting will take place on 16 October 2018. The notice of the extraordinary general meeting has been announced through a separate press release and will be held available on the company’s web page, www.dcarnegie.se. The official launch of the company’s new name, including new web page and graphical profile, will take place on 30 October 2018.
